The school year is ending and a chorus/band event is planned. Our chorus came up with a cheesy name and is calling it the “Springtacular Music Extravaganza.” Michael asks if it’s ok that he introduces his friend Brewster after the event to Cindy. I tell him I suppose that would be alright. So the night after the chorus event, Cindy comes with me to meet Brewster. He is not much into sport or extra school activities and seems to be more like the skater boy type. You know the type that do all kinds of stunts and puts them on You tube and tries to be a jackass want to be goof off. He broke his arm last year doing a skater trick off a railing in town and his arm is still messed up. Cindy does like him, probably because he is reckless, but not more than just friends. She is really in love with Paul and always talking about him when he is not around.

I hope that Michael and Brewster do not think they can steel Cindy and I away from Brad and Paul. Our relationships seem to be getting more and more complicated as we meet more guys at school. Life is funny that way, when Cindy and I both did not have boyfriends no one would give us the time of day. Now that we both have guys we are really getting serious about, guys from school come out of the woodwork and want us to be with them, following us around like little puppy dogs. Maybe it’s because I am now with the most popular guy in town and same with Cindy. The girls seem to gawk at Paul too, similar to the way they do Brad. All Brad’s family seems to attract the opposite of sex. What is it about this family?

After Cindy is introduced to Brewster I immediately announce that we have other plans with Brad and Paul and we ditch Michael and Brewster. I really don’t care much for Brewster, he seems like a trouble maker to me. I didn’t want Cindy talking to him too much after I seen who he was. I know it’s not up to me but I like the idea that Cindy and I are dating brothers. I always want Cindy to be in my life as she is really my best friend. I try to do it in a nice way. Cindy and Brewster don’t really fit together as well as her and Paul do in my eyes. If this is one of Michael’s best friends there seems to be things in Michael’s life I am unaware of, and maybe he’s not the nice guy I thought he was. Maybe he’s just a good actor?

I long for the days when I kept more to myself and my studies and had less of a social agenda. I do value my time with Brad and how he makes me feel. And I can’t see myself now without him. I just don’t want this to end badly.
